Kid’s Life Wednesday Series “Devoted to His Word”

26 Jan

Wednesday Nights in February our kids will be learning about being devoted to His Word. Our main verse will be “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)

Here’s some of the things we want kids to learn in this series:

  • God speaks to me through His Word.
  • I know my Bible and how to use it.
  • Followers of Jesus read the Bible.
  • The Word of God is a powerful tool for my everyday life.
  • God’s Word gives me an example to follow.

God’s Faithfulness

25 Jan

I want to share on the faithfulness of God. For the last year and half my former manager was sabotaging my hours and making me look bad to my superiors. I had no idea why my hours were getting cut.

I kept tithing and speaking the Word and for the last 4 months I’ve made more money working less hours than I did when I was full time and I am now giving my biggest tithe this week than I ever have. God is Faithful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next Kid’s Life Sunday Series “The Holy Spirit In My Life”…

18 Jan

6 Week Series running Sunday, January 29 – Sunday, March 4.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is still at work in the earth today. Not only that, but there is no “Junior Holy Spirit” in the Bible. The same Spirit that filled and empowered the early church is available for kids today. In Acts 19:2 Paul asked certain disciples if they had received the Holy Spirit. They replied that they hadn’t even heard of the Holy Spirit. I believe the first step in making sure this generation is filled with the Spirit is to first introduce them to Him. This series will be instrumental in doing that.

Lesson titles:

  • The Holy Spirit In Me
  • Does God Speak To Kids?
  • The Inward Voice
  • Filled With The Spirit
  • Why Tongues?
  • Gifts of the Spirit

Your child can get a head start on memorizing the bottom lines and verses here. We will be launching our Bible Bucks Store in correlation with this series. Kids will be able to save up points (all recorded in secure database) to purchase various prizes.

I’m a Ready Listener!

18 Jan

…With God

Matthew 19:26, “with men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

In our January series, Consistent Time With God, we have been breaking down each component of a vibrant prayer life and getting ourselves in position to really hear God’s voice and tap into the “all things are possible” place.

This week we talked about “WITH”. What does it mean to be WITH someone? What are the signs that someone is WITH you?

Communication is one of the main signs of a good relationship. I think we would all agree that the first step to good communication is listening. God is always speaking. But are we always listening?

Being WITH someone is a two-way street. We pour our heart out to them, then we listen to them as they pour their heart out to us. It’s the same with God. If we slow ourselves down a little bit and listen, He will speak. We can’t do any listening if we are doing all the speaking.

Listening brings us peace and safety (proverbs 1:33)-we will be confident and unafraid. Our happiness has nothing to do with getting our way. It has to do with knowing that God is with us and He will work it out as we follow His lead.

The way we listen to each other is a direct reflection of how we listen to God. If we have a hard time listening to the thoughts of people who love us, how can we be sure we are listening to God who loves us?

Many times our listening is hindered by the way we feel about things, or the way we feel toward the person bringing the information to us.

To improve our listening, we have to make up our mind to get over the way we feel and pull the truth out of what we are hearing. This will put us in position to hear all that God is saying to us. We know that James 1:19 says, “let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.”

Start today. Say: I’m a ready listener.

I am challenged to invite the church to another level of listening. The Holy Spirit wants us to draw closer to Him and to hear His voice like never before.

Press in and Believe!

11 Jan

2012 has started out with a bang. We are only 11 days into the new year and God is on the move!

January 1st we launched our CTWG series and God spoke to us about His plans for His church in 2012.

As many of us met and prayed in homes last week, God began to reveal His heart to us in a fresh way confirming His plan to bless His people.

Last Wednesday, we worshiped and prayed corporately.

On Friday, we worshiped and interceded for the church and the lost. The Spirit of God spoke to us to do the offering differently. We invited the people forward to place their seed on the alter so we could pray over it. As we prayed, the Spirit of God spoke said He was going to give us a 100 fold return on those seeds! We rejoiced in expectation of the faithfulness of God.

Sunday, the Spirit of God moved in a powerful way and we found ourselves at the altar believing God to break the chains off of our lives.

By MONDAY, we received our first testimony of 100 fold return! A woman had sown $7 in the offering on Friday. On Monday she received a check for $700! That is exactly 100 fold! Thank you Jesus!

What an amazing start of 2012! What do you need God to do in your life this year? What are you believing for? Let’s continue to stay consistent with our time with God! Lets press in so we can hear His voice more clearly this year than ever before! We love you and believe that God is going to show Himself strong on your behalf this year. We expect miracles.
