May uLOVE Outreach – Detroit Children’s Hospital

uLOVE Outreach

This morning Urgency students and leaders from all three Michigan campuses came together to for uLOVE.  Students spent time learning abut the Detroit Children Hospital.  They spent time in small groups praying for the children, families, and workers that spend time at the Children Hospital.

Students prepared over 50 bags to send to the hospital that were full of new toys, crayons, books, dads, blankets, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, bandaids, and more!

Students also created their own beaded toys to send to a child at the hospital.  They also made bracelets to wear to remind them to pray for the children at the hospital this month!

After I dropped off the nearly 100 bags of supplies and toys Deanna Scanlon CTRS (Child Life Projects Specialist) expressed her gratitude for the generosity of Urgency and Life Christian Church.  she mentioned that the supplies that came in were perfect timing.  She had given out her last bottle of shampoo the previous day, and we arrived with an entire bag of just shampoo for her.  The items in greatest need were shampoo, deodorant, crayons, and toys.  All these things were in every bag, as well as dozens of extra shampoo, deodorant, crayons and toys.

The Detroit Children’s hospital was extremely grateful for the contributions of uLOVE!

God paid for your security!

Security….everyone is concerned about their security these days.

As crazy as it can be out there, the good news is we have eternal security as followers of Jesus Christ. God made Him to be sin so we could become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Friends, we are in right standing with God because Jesus is perfect, not because we are perfect. If we base our right standing with God on our performance, we will all fall short.
So be at ease in your eternal security. God paid a great price by sending Jesus to pay for your salvation.  Let’s respond to it by living for God more every day. Let’s read our Bibles. Let’s come to church expecting great things. Let’s serve each other. Let’s walk in love. And most important, let’s tell others about this wonderful God who loves and accepts people right where they are.

I love you and make it a great week.

Failure is an event not a person!

He doesn't view you as a failure!

God has an alternate ending for you- meaning no matter how terrible you think your situation is, God can still put you on top.
It's easy to feel like a failure when we find ourselves in adversity. The good news is, failure is an event not a person. God loves you and doesn't view you as a failure. You are His child and God doesn't make junk. It's time to pick ourselves up again because failure isn't falling, it's refusing to get back up. God is picking you up today. God wants to walk through that failure with you and help you turn it around.  We serve a God of miracles who wants to miraculously help you. Won't you trust him to do it? Run to Him not from Him. We promise that you will find a loving father who accepts you just the way you are and ever ready to help you become all you can be in Christ!
We love you so much. Accept the alternate ending God has for you and make it a great week.

It’s the Little Foxes

Watch out for little foxes!

Little foxes spoil the vine, a simple yet profound statement. It's not the big things that usually trip us up; rather those little things over time, that separate us from the life God has for us. But God has an alternate ending for you!

If you can say little things have pulled you away from a vibrant relationship with Jesus, the good news is little things can get us back! Little things like having an expectation on Saturday nights before church, or attending a small group, or Wednesday night Bible studies. How about just raising your hands in the worship service? Reading a chapter of the Bible a day? Helping another believer in need? Praying in the Spirit on your drive times? Begin doing the little things and watch your walk with God come alive!

Friends, It's never too late to begin again. God is waiting with outstretched arms ready to help you even in your weakest moment. Won't you trust Him today with the alternate ending He has for you?

I love you and make it a great week!

Gratefulness is the cure to anger

Have you ever gone down the should have, would have, could have road? We've all done it.

Allowing ourselves to entertain these thoughts can get us angry and can drive us towards a bad ending.   But God wants to give us an alternate ending!

God loves us based on His love for Jesus, not based on our actions.  Meditating on the love of God will give us an alternate ending. God promises that He has good plans for us and desires for us to prosper in EVERY area of our lives.

The cure to the anger problem begins with gratefulness. Find something to be grateful about today.

Pray this out loud:
Father I thank you that I'm saved. I thank you for the life you've given me. I thank you for my family. I thank you for my home, my job. I thank you for waking me up this morning and loving me beyond measure. I believe TODAY you are perfecting all that concerns me because YOU love ME.

I love you and make it a great week.
