jobs are raining in

As you know I have been out of work for the past 2 and a half years…

The two places I would have always thought I would love to work at is U of M Hospital or Chrysler.  Obviously, Chrysler because that is the engineering customer that I have been working with for the past 8 years, and who wouldn’t want to work for the hospital since it is the best of any other by far :)

Today, I had an interview with both organizations. The interview at U of M went very well when I met with the administrator, and I believe I will be called back for the 2nd interview next Wednesday.

Last night, I tried looking for an email address or telephone number to contact my past customer who taught me all my technical skills to ask her to be a reference for me since she works at Chrysler.  I never did find the number, but when I showed up for the interview she met me at one of the offices where the meeting was to take place.  She gave me a hug and I told her I was going to ask her to be a reference.  She said she saw my resume and she already spoke on my behalf.  She said she herself was a hiring manager and is hiring for a few positions in Chrysler.  She was going to stay in the meeting and participate.

As they were talking to me the manager mentioned there were four areas of work they needed to fill and what did I WANT.  We talked a little more and I told them I was a little overwhelmed by the wonderful response, all the positions sounded great, and I was going to leave and have a wonderful ride home. PRAISE THE LORD.  I was in my car a few minutes and the contract person called to say he went to the meeting room to quickly ask them how it all went and they were in the room talking, and giggling.  They said I could fill any one of the positions wonderfully, and they were trying to duke it out where I would go since they all three wanted me. My friend told her boss “I TOLD YOU SO.”  So I have been told….I am verbally hired.

I could not believe that I was at Chrysler again and that so many people came up hugging me and saying such nice things….God is GREAT!  And I was and have been feeling physically GREAT!!!  How many people would have an interview at their favorite places on the same day and have wonderful experiences as well….and get hired on the spot with WHAT DO YOU LIKE AND WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!!

I have another interview at a different company tomorrow that is scheduled so I will attend it.  But what I really want is the job at U of M hospital.  It might be less money…much less money, I don’t know…but who wouldnt want to work there and it’s close to home — direct hire with benefits.  We’ll see about the 2nd interview.  I’ll let the Lord work it all out.

I thought you would appreciate another answer to prayer….the Lord does have a sense of humor :)

The contract manager that called me with the great news said he thought the interview would go well….but he had NO IDEA HOW WELL IT WOULD GO!!!  I told him, I did, since I have been going to serious Bible study the past 6 months….he said he was currently on the way to one and he totally agreed with me.  How wonderful.

All my love to you and your wonderful family,

Testimony from Howell Campus

tithe to glory

I have been encouraging my husband to fill himself with the Word more and not to feel overwhelmed by not having a job, shortage of food, money, etc. –  that together we need to fight the good fight of faith against depression and to stay focused on God’s finished results.  Little did I know that my mother prayed over her tithe for my husband to have peace and a job.  A few days later my husband’s co-worker from his last job called him to see if he would be interested in part time work and my husband started back to work.   He received his first paycheck just in time to pay rent!

I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to sow seed to our God by volunteering in the church office.  It means so much to be able to ‘serve’ and be part of fulfilling His Great Commission and to be able to learn from our ministry staff while serving.

The Jericho Project

About a month and a half ago a friend & I started fellowshipping everyday in order to keep each other encouraged & strong in our faith. We were tired of satan attacking our relationships, finances and peace of mind. We became adamant about destroying his attempts to destroy us!

The Holy Spirit led me to Joshua, where he & his camp marched around the walls of Jericho for seven days. On the seventh day, after they completed their final march, the walls crumbled and fell & victory was in the hands of Joshua & God’s people!!

So what we were instructed to do was to put all our bills/debts in a pile on the floor. We included on a sheet of paper all other challenges we were presently facing. Relationship issues, material/financial needs, health issues, where I’ll kids will go to school and many more things. We then prayed for specific scriptures to stand on, concerning these things. We wrote those scriptures down, put all of these things together in a pile on the floor and prayed over this project. As specifically instructed, every morning we prayed as we usually do. Afterward, we joyfully praised God as we approached the pile of stuff. We then silently marched around that pile one time and went on about our day. We did this for 6 days. On the 7th day we marched around the pile 7 times. After the 7th time, we shouted & danced & praised God as we envisioned the walls of that pile of stuff crumbling to dust!

Satan tried to distract & discourage us, especially on the seventh day of our project. But we fought him off with praise to God and confessing the scriptures the Holy Spirit gave us. We exercised our authority in Jesus!!

The last day of our project arrived. The very next day, blessings began to manifest. Within the last 3 weeks my friend was blessed w/a new car!! I’ve received an increase in my wages!! We both have received other financial & material blessings! There’s a supernatural peace inside of us and in our households concerning the challenges we face! A debt was totally cancelled! We’ve had more favor @ work and with people in general! There’s been no strife in our relationships! Most of all, we’re more sensitive to the voice of God, we’re stronger as people and in our faith and we’ve grown more spiritually & naturally. We think, speak and act better!

We wanted to share this w/everyone that we could because it’s real and it works!! We were obedient to the instructions of the Holy Spirit. We were and remain to be diligent in seeking God first in EVERYTHING we do. We’re also vigilant with using the authority that God gave us through Jesus Christ. We have authority over ALL the power satan has, but faith without works is dead, so we did some things and God is doing the rest!!!!!!!

Thank you Pastor Marie for dedicating your life to the body of Christ. It’s because of the teachings and candor of our family @ LCC that has me, my family and others close to us, where we are today. We live in freedom & victory in a way that I never knew even existed. I love you & your children beyond explanation, because you all loved us before you even knew who we were!!!!

a graduate in the making

I decided to go back to college, I figured I should seize the opportunity while being on unemployment to do so. I had visited Baker College and really liked what they had to offer, so I started making plans. I found out that the State of Michigan would put some money toward tuition, $5,000 per year up to two years, totaling $10,000. I had told Baker College that I needed to wait since I was checking out the program that the State had to offer and that I didn’t want to miss the opportunity. In the process Baker College told me that they had awarded me $5,000 grant money from them, as well as $2,040 federal grant money. Everything has been approved and I start college in the fall. All in all, I have received a grand total of $17,040 in monies awarded toward my education and school supplies, everything I need for school is PAID IN FULL.  I have told many people my testimony and some have said that it was very rare for that to happen. With God all things are possible!

believe for big

Pastor Marie always says we need to be a big mouth for God. One thing God has given me is a big mouth, so here goes.

I know I’ve told most if not all of you about how my building company was hopelessly in debt a couple of years ago and God delivered us from that debt in this terrible economy. Early this year God put it on my heart to believe that we would have money set aside in a savings account. He was very specific, I needed to believe and confess that my company would have $250,000 in the savings account by the end of 2010.

Despite the economy we have been having a great year, but even with the year we have been having by the end of October I was only able to save about $80,000. I continued to confess and have faith that the Lord would come through. On December 16th 2010 I was able to make a deposit into our savings account that put us exactly at $250,000. Praise God. The cool thing is that Pastor Anton and Pastor Jeannie both prophesied that my company and I personally would experience increase this year. Which brings me to my next point, God being a God that does more then we ask or even imagine saw to it that I was able to take a nice year end bonus plus a raise in salary. In addition to that my wife also received an increase in salary as well. God is good.

God has already put it on my heart as to what to believe for in 2011, I will keep you posted!

business success…God is good

A week ago Saturday, Linda went to corporate prayer, and had Pastor Marie pray that I would get a job. Pastor Marie said that I would get a job that paid 3-4 times more than what I made at my previous job.

Last Tuesday at Home Connections, I asked the group to pray that I would have a job by Labor Day. Last Wednesday I received a phone call from a company that I sent a resume to, although I didn’t remember sending it to them. The lady asked me a couple of questions, and told me what the job paid & asked if I was interested. I said yes. I went on the interview on Thursday. The interview went well and Christine said that I was what they were looking for. She said they received 100 resumes for 10 positions, and they didn’t know how they were going to thin the list down. She told me to call on Friday afternoon. I called her on Friday and she said no decision had been made, and asked if I was still interested in the job. She told me to call Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 3 pm, I started to get anxious and I could feel stress starting to build up. I remember Pastor Tracy’s message on Sunday about stress. I made a decision to call 5 minutes early, instead of worrying about the situation. When Christine answered the phone she said no decision has been made yet, maybe by Thursday. Shortly afterward the phone rang and it was Christine.  She said that I don’t need to call her on Thursday, as they are going to hire me right now!! Tomorrow (Thursday) I fill out the paperwork and start my new job next week!!!!

From the very beginning I claimed the job as mine and that I was the best candidate for the position, and it worked!!

obstacles out

My wife and I just had a difficult Season with a variety of obstacles to many to mention.  Every time we would receive a blessing, the devil would put a bump in the road we were on, An example; my van breaking down and having to be towed on a flat bed because the transmission fried & the wheels locked up.  I didn’t give in, I gave thanks to God that it happened the day it did in Town, and not when I was out-of-town or worse while I was driving on the Freeway.  We stayed on the Word, prayed, gave thanks for all we had, and gave God all the glory.

My work environment was a water cooler, flesh filled frenzy.  It tried to take it’s toll on me, so I would call my wife, we would Pray in agreement, “I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me” The Lord gave me this position, so I was to be obedient to the position and resist temptation.  In that lean season we struggled to pay rent, let alone tithe, but we did as much as we could.  Obstacle after obstacle, we placed our trust in the Lord.

Now, my company’s top two marketers are both born again Christians, and in my department we have a new hire who is also a Pastor of a Bible based Church.   I have the highest sales in the whole company, and my wife and I now are homeowners. I found a used Saturn with only 57000 miles on it in mint condition for $ 2000.  It has everything, even a full tank of gas!  Our God is a good God all the time!  You can’t out give God!  We are over whelmed with tears of joy!!!  Praise God!

God’s plan…in His time

I own an excavating company with my three brothers. The business has done quite well over the years, but with Michigan’s slowing economy and other factors, the business has been struggling for the last 3 to 4 years. This past year has been the worst economically. As an owner you make sacrifices for the good of the company, including salary and benefits. Unfortunately, this has not been for the good of my family…my wife and two children.  In this past year my salary has been less than half what it normally should be. At one point we went 13 weeks in a row with no paycheck!  Yet, somehow we managed to keep our bills paid with no late fees. That alone is a miracle from God.

Obviously my stress level was high, but I managed to stay in faith and believe that God would work things out. I know that faith without works is dead…so…I decided to put some action to my faith by filling out applications for employment. For the past 6 to 9 months I found the process extremely frustrating and disappointing at times. Most of the job offers would take me away from my family for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. I couldn’t imagine that was the best God had for me.

As part of my daily routine I stop in at a gas station before work and visit with the manager there that I’ve known for years. After a while you start to get to know the regulars and I’ve had the opportunity to make conversation with some interesting people. About 6 months ago I met a guy by the name of Scott. He was just another one of the guys who would come in and have coffee and conversation before work. Little did I know that this was the beginning of God’s plan for me.

Of course I would watch the want ads on a regular basis and continue to apply for any job that sounded promising. I happened across an ad for a local company working as a driver. So I emailed my resume, just like I had so many other times. The next morning, stopping in at my favorite gas station as usual, Scott was there. I thought he might have worked for the company that I had just sent my resume to, but I wasn’t sure which branch. So I asked him where he worked. He told me it was the branch that I had applied at and that he was the branch manager. I informed him that I had just emailed my resume to him.  He said he would be looking for it. My resume just went to the TOP of the pile! (A pile of about 180) Praise God!

To make a long story short…..We talked, he offered and I accepted.

God’s timing is always perfect, even when we don’t think so.

His plans…it’s all good

Since coming to this church I felt at home immediately, and    have learned so much. I have been shown how to get closer with God and I know to give God my problems and not take them back because if I handle it, I will just mess it up. Now it’s nope He has it, and I can go do whatever I need to do and know He’s taken care of it.

I have gotten a raise at work, promoted, my finances taken care of, and now I can get along with my family, I’ve learned how to deal with my mom, we can now have conversations and I don’t want to put my head through a wall.

Since I can now give everything to God and not worry about it, the devil comes at me with different things. My daughter and I will have an argument and she will come out in the living room and she will say she is sorry and I will know it was just the devil and tell her honey it wasn’t your fault the devil is trying to use you to get at me.   I am not saying that I don’t have problems because I do, but I have just learned a different way of dealing with them.

When I used to pray, I would look up and see the ceiling or whatever was above me, and then it got to where I could see clouds and now I see the face of Jesus. Through conversations with Him, I know He doesn’t want anything except good for me and for me to spend time with Him. That is all I have done, and he has taken over my life in the best ways. All because of spending time with him. Every time the devil comes at me I say nope here you go God, and I don’t worry about it.

the Jesus change

I have been at this office for 5 years and did not care who I hurt, didn’t talk to people at work, they knew nothing about me as I did not want to be the gossip around the office, would tell someone off before thinking. However still worked hard and did my job so they kept me.  My kids and I were having problems, I was having a year long pitty party and it was all about me and nothing was going right. I was giving my problems to God and wanting him to fix things but then I would take the problem back and put the problem and me in a bubble and no one could get into my bubble, you wouldn’t have been able to get through with a chisel and then I wondered why God was not answering any of my prayers and why he wasn’t there for me.

One day he gave me a picture of him with his arms out for me to come in and me with my back to him. For the last year people at work have noticed that I have changed, I never raise my voice I treat everyone with kindness and I just don’t let the day to day stuff get to me.  Now, when I do get a little stressed out, I think what did I do differently and usually it’s because I did not ask for His guidance.

I have had people ask me what is changed in my life and I tell them about my church and my Jesus. I have had people that did not know me tell me how great it was to work with me. Praise God He has changed my life!
