HERO

I’m excited about our powerful series, “Hero.” A true hero is someone who is willing to make a personal sacrifice for somebody else, and there are plenty of biblical examples.

Gideon's Battle

Gideon became a hero, but he was a most unlikely candidate. He was afraid, and the truth is, Gideon had reason to be afraid. Things went from bad to worse, but Gideon’s feelings about himself didn’t stop God from making him a mighty Man of Valor.

Sometimes life goes from bad to worse. But…if you’re average and ordinary and you lack resources or you feel like a failure, then YOU are a candidate for  becoming a hero!

We love heroes because deep down inside, we long to be a hero. We long to do something significant in this life. God put that longing inside of us. We have His DNA.  We’re wired for success, for something greater than ourselves.  There’s a hero inside of you. So it’s time to awaken the hero. You are wired for greatness!

Xplore 2011 was a hit! Review

Xplore 2011 was such a great weekend, it will be difficult to write all of the things that took place, however we will give an overview in the following blog:

We started the weekend off with a worship session Friday night.  We talked about Jesus’ Love…not our love toward Him, but His love toward us.  Even in the worship set prior to the Word for that night, something was definitely happening.  God was taking control.  The students were able to start “Unleashing” their faith in His love.  A great night proceeded and lots of fun was had after the first session.  Bed time was postponed…which many times it is on trips like this.  :)

We started Saturday morning off with breakfast (the granola was amazing, mixed with yogurt!).  Then, we moved into the morning session.  God was at work and building something in these students which was amazing to me a part of.  The students started to share what they were hearing from God, it blew us away.  God was at work for sure!

We proceeded to a full day of activities which included: the zipline, the water trampoline, the kayaks, some epic battles in the lake, the climbing wall, a very difficult swamp walk on a broken down bridge, volleyball, and one of the best football games of the year on the fields of Camp Michawana.  After a great lunch break and a delicious dinner, we went on to the Saturday night worship session.

Saturday night really showed us what God was doing in the hearts of the students as we discussed “Faith in His Power”.  The night ended with student testimonies that will blow your mind and even some visions from the students that they saw during the worship set.  The students were building up each other when they shared.  There was a major release of lots of stuff that hadn’t been previously released.  It was really something to be a part of!

Saturday night ended with a bonfire and everyone was so whipped from the days events that most were sleeping by 1a…which might sound late, but on events like this…it’s pretty early.  :)

Sunday morning started, of course, with breakfast, but then session 4 started to concluded the weekends sessions.  We talked about “Faith in Each Other”.  The students were interacting in the session and were duct taped together to find tennis balls around the worship building.  They found out that relying on each other is something that can really help build our faith.

This weekend, we saw 3 salvations, 15-20 rededications, 7 infillings of the Holy Spirit with evidence, and too many to list breakthroughs.

Parents, you will be hearing the testimonies first-hand from your children…I am sure of it.

Leaders, thank you from the bottom of our heart for being a part of such an epic weekend!

Students, continue to receive Jesus’ love.  This is your key to receiving all that He has in store for you!  Remember always, Jesus love you!  It’s that simple.  That is what made this weekend a success!

Winning isn’t “everything”, but it sure feels good!

The Life Christian softball team took 1st place in the league and then continued to take the winning streak over to the championship tournament and took 1st place over 4 different leagues this past Saturday, August 14th.  The tournament ended after 4 grueling games in the heat and humidity of the day.  The final game started off slow, but the team pulled it together in the final 2 innings to claim the title by a slim margin of 4 runs.

LCC is so proud of this team.  Throughout the season there were plenty of times to get out of the fruit and let a ref or another team really have it…however, this team decided up front and prior to the season even starting that they were not going to be like every other team.  No matter if there was a bad call, an error in the field, a loudmouthed opponent or a change in the line-up…LCC softball team took it all in stride and didn’t let anything get to them and trigger a bad attitude or negative approach.  This is what winning is all about.  This is where God shows up for people.  When people refuse to give in to turmoil or difficult situations and keep a positive attitude, God shows up.  This team deserved what they received and God shined His light on them this season.  What an example this team has been.  Please take a moment, when you see the teammates of LCC’s softball team, to stop and let them know how much you appreciate them and their great ethics and character throughout the season.

Winning isn’t everything…but it sure feels good!!!  Thank you Jesus for such an injury free and spectacular season!
