May uLOVE Outreach – Detroit Children’s Hospital

uLOVE Outreach

This morning Urgency students and leaders from all three Michigan campuses came together to for uLOVE.  Students spent time learning abut the Detroit Children Hospital.  They spent time in small groups praying for the children, families, and workers that spend time at the Children Hospital.

Students prepared over 50 bags to send to the hospital that were full of new toys, crayons, books, dads, blankets, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, soap, bandaids, and more!

Students also created their own beaded toys to send to a child at the hospital.  They also made bracelets to wear to remind them to pray for the children at the hospital this month!

After I dropped off the nearly 100 bags of supplies and toys Deanna Scanlon CTRS (Child Life Projects Specialist) expressed her gratitude for the generosity of Urgency and Life Christian Church.  she mentioned that the supplies that came in were perfect timing.  She had given out her last bottle of shampoo the previous day, and we arrived with an entire bag of just shampoo for her.  The items in greatest need were shampoo, deodorant, crayons, and toys.  All these things were in every bag, as well as dozens of extra shampoo, deodorant, crayons and toys.

The Detroit Children’s hospital was extremely grateful for the contributions of uLOVE!

Life Christian Church joins “The Call.”

On November 11–12, 2011, Life Christian Church will join thousands from across America will gather to Ford Field (Home of the Detroit Lions) to fast, pray and cry out to God. We will gather to the heart of our area, downtown Detroit, which has become so symbolic of our national crisis—economic collapse, racial tension, the rising tide of the Islamic movement, and the shedding of innocent blood of our children in the streets and of our unborn.

But the place where they say there is no hope, God has chosen as His staging ground for a great communal healing and His house of prayer for all nations.

Life Christian will join multiple thousands from around the nation in a 24-hour solemn assembly, daring to believe that Detroit’s desperation can produce a movement that can change a nation.

This movement brings many generations together to believe God for revival in the land- let’s stand in faith in unity at Ford Field on November 11th & 12th.

TRANSPORTATION TIMES:
The full event is 24 hours: from 6p Friday to 6p Saturday.
We welcome families and groups to attend as often as you’d like. Life Christian has two bus departure times for your convenience.

6p-10p Friday

Xplore 2011 was a hit! Review

Xplore 2011 was such a great weekend, it will be difficult to write all of the things that took place, however we will give an overview in the following blog:

We started the weekend off with a worship session Friday night.  We talked about Jesus’ Love…not our love toward Him, but His love toward us.  Even in the worship set prior to the Word for that night, something was definitely happening.  God was taking control.  The students were able to start “Unleashing” their faith in His love.  A great night proceeded and lots of fun was had after the first session.  Bed time was postponed…which many times it is on trips like this.  :)

We started Saturday morning off with breakfast (the granola was amazing, mixed with yogurt!).  Then, we moved into the morning session.  God was at work and building something in these students which was amazing to me a part of.  The students started to share what they were hearing from God, it blew us away.  God was at work for sure!

We proceeded to a full day of activities which included: the zipline, the water trampoline, the kayaks, some epic battles in the lake, the climbing wall, a very difficult swamp walk on a broken down bridge, volleyball, and one of the best football games of the year on the fields of Camp Michawana.  After a great lunch break and a delicious dinner, we went on to the Saturday night worship session.

Saturday night really showed us what God was doing in the hearts of the students as we discussed “Faith in His Power”.  The night ended with student testimonies that will blow your mind and even some visions from the students that they saw during the worship set.  The students were building up each other when they shared.  There was a major release of lots of stuff that hadn’t been previously released.  It was really something to be a part of!

Saturday night ended with a bonfire and everyone was so whipped from the days events that most were sleeping by 1a…which might sound late, but on events like this…it’s pretty early.  :)

Sunday morning started, of course, with breakfast, but then session 4 started to concluded the weekends sessions.  We talked about “Faith in Each Other”.  The students were interacting in the session and were duct taped together to find tennis balls around the worship building.  They found out that relying on each other is something that can really help build our faith.

This weekend, we saw 3 salvations, 15-20 rededications, 7 infillings of the Holy Spirit with evidence, and too many to list breakthroughs.

Parents, you will be hearing the testimonies first-hand from your children…I am sure of it.

Leaders, thank you from the bottom of our heart for being a part of such an epic weekend!

Students, continue to receive Jesus’ love.  This is your key to receiving all that He has in store for you!  Remember always, Jesus love you!  It’s that simple.  That is what made this weekend a success!

TURN Youth Testimony

On Wednesday, June 1st during youth service a student came forward for prayer.  His knee was hurting from a sports accident at school.  He was asked if he had faith that God would heal him, and he was “all in”.  Then it was asked to the other students, “who can agree with him that God will heal his knee?”  Many students raised their hands and came forward to pray over him.  There were are 15-20 students that came forward to lay hands on him.  During the prayer, you could feel that God was doing something through the prayers of his people (the students of TURN Youth Ministry).  As the prayer ended and the students went into small groups, we believed that Jesus was doing a work in this students knee.

About two days later, I messaged this student on Facebook and he said that his knee had never felt better.  Thank God for answering the prayers of those that believe!

Xplore 2011 – Youth Summer Camp info

Xplore 2011 – youth summer camp!

tickets now available online – click here

We wanted to let you know about our summer camp that is coming up on July 8-10th.  It will be located in Hastings, MI at Camp Michawana. The trip is designed not only for fun (even though we’re going to have a lot of fun), but to equip students with wisdom to navigate through life’s choices, which ultimately determine the destination for our lives. We are so excited to see what God is going to do on this weekend in the lives of the students that attend.  There are always numerous testimonies from these trips!

During the weekend, your student(s) will attend four large group sessions where they will experience passionate worship and a dynamic message. Students will also attend two small group sessions where they will be given an opportunity to apply these messages to their own personal lives, as well as hear the advice of others.

Because of the ministry goals for this trip, please support us by not bringing any electronic devices. This means NO cell phones, iPods, palm pilots, blackberrys, laptops, video games, etc. Sorry, we know this is hard, but trust us–it is for everyone’s good. Adult leaders will have cell phones for students to call home to check in with parents if needed. Phone lists of leaders will be given out at the Friday Check-In, so parents have a way to contact leadership. Any questions or concerns about this, please contact James Boyd at: (248) 701-3751.

Here are some of the extras that this camp brings with it for the summer: bonfires, outdoor services, lake with the BLOB, climbing rock wall, ropes course, volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball and more!  We are able to keep the cost to a low $99 per student, if paid for by June 8th. God did it again (twice)

Two Wednesdays ago in youth setvice at Troy campus, you had people come up if they wanted to believe for something and I did and well, it happened :]

When you called us up I had a lot on my mind and I wanted to just narrow it down to one thing and I chose to believe for clear skin, or to be free from acne. That week I had already started to speak against it whenever I went through my Charles Capps confessions. I would specifically talk against the acne when it got to the sickness section. So I chose that on Wednesday. Well, I kept up on the confessing and speaking against it and ever since that week I haven’t had any problems with my skin. Before I would have to wash my face every night and each morning. I haven’t been washing it at night and I even went a day without washing it in the morning. I have never done that. Ever.

Second testimony is about my knee. At the IT service at the Howell campus, Pastor Anton called up people who needed healing in their knees. A while ago I went to the doctors because I was having severe pain in my knee that came from running. I went up for the prayer and Pastor Shanda laid hands on my right knee. I felt something happening when she did. I just started running on a regular basis again which I was recommended NOT to do by the doctor. I haven’t had any issues other than once in my opposite knee. I immediately spoke against it and it left and I had no more pain.

God is good :]
