Meet our new group of CTWG Challengers for the month of May. We are so excited to get to know you all and see what God has in store for you through this journey!
Angela Ward: Hello my name is Angela Ward. I live in Southfield, Michigan. I have three daughters and two granddaughters which I love dearly. In this thirty day challenge, I want so much from God, but the one thing that I really want is a deeper relationship with God, and to be used by him.
Jim & Angie Bryant: My name is Jim Bryant, my wife’s name is Angie Bryant, we have a 9 month daughter & a 18 year old daughter (she is my step daughter). We live in Dearborn. What drives us, our aim in life is that we may know Him, Christ in us. Our hope is to grow in the grace & knowledge of our Lord & Savior. Christ is our all & all.
Julia Echols: My name is Julia Echols, and I will be joining the CTWG core team 2. I am 47yr old single mother of 4 children. I am a member of Word of Faith International Christian Center in Southfield, where I serve on our Praise and Worship Team. I’m also a member of our Sanctuary Choir. I am a Registered Nurse as well. I wanted to join the CTWG core team because I want to dedicate more time in the Word of God. I want to be able to slow down and always make “Him” number one in my life, and I know in doing so, my life will be blessed as a result and I can be a blessing to others as well. I love to Worship the Lord, and I know that spending more consistent time with Him will only take my worship to a higher level.
Nancy Beattie: I’m a teacher in a middle school in Redford (and live in Troy). I have been married for nearly 28 years and have two daughters. I have listened to WMUZ for years and really enjoy Chris. After hearing about the first CTWG back in March, I periodically heard information throughout the month when tuning in. I was curious to hear people in the group and see how they felt it was helping them. It sounded interesting, and I decided to join this second core group. I am most excited about getting my relationship with God closer through prayer, reading the Bible, putting my trust in Him, and now being a part of this core group of people (and others from the first core group) with a similar need and desire.
Gary Allen: I am Gary Allen, a resident of Hazel Park. I have been married for 38 great years to Bev. We have 3 daughters and 7 grandkids: 4 girls, 3 boys. I have been a union Pipefitter for 41 years in the MetroDetroit area. I received Salvation in 1980. I was drawn to CTWG while listening to Chris (WMUZ) and have decided to energize my Christian life.

Timarie Szwed: I am orginaly from Westland, but now I live in the city of Detroit with my husband and two children. I am still a young Christian, not as far as age, but in terms of how long I’ve been walking with the Lord, and I really hope that doing the CTWG will help me take my relationship with Christ to a new level. I am also looking forward to the fellowship with the core group and also the support and accountability I am hoping to receive and to be able to give back.

Nicole Castanier: My name is Nicole Castanier I am a mother of 4 children: 1 boy and 3 girls , I have been married for 25 years to my wondeful husband Bernard Castanier, I live in Windsor Ontario. I am very excited for what God has for me , I am going with an open heart and mind to recive whatever God wants to do with my life…..
Maria Caballero: My name is Maria Caballero, I live in Ypsilanti with my wonderful husband, Franklin, and our 7-month-old baby boy, who just amazes me more and more every day. We attend a bilingual church in Ann Arbor called “La Roca Eterna (The Eternal Rock)”. I am also a third grade teacher at a bilingual school in Detroit. Every morning, on my way to work, I heard Chris talking about needing people for the core team. I thought of all of the reasons that I couldn’t. Then God really got my attention…as I was thinking this, “ well, all of the spots are probably already taken anyways”, Chris announced, “there are still open spots on the core team”. I am ready to be out of my comfort zone, expecting God to do something great! I am looking forward to spending more consistent time seeking His face and as a result, to be torn from my comfort zone and changed from the inside out, so that I can be more useful to Him!
Mona Harris: My name is Mona Harris, and a child of the most High God. Detroit has been my home for almost 5 years. I work with LifeBuilders which is a non-profit organization, and I have been with them for over 3 years. I found out about CTWG through a mutual friend name Dave Degrendal. I became interested and decided I wanted to try it and see how I can draw closer to the Lord. I have been saved for almost 5 years and love God so much, and I just want to keep decreasing so He can increase in me even more.
Frankie Kliza – Detroit, MI – I recently started listening to WMUZ and heard of the 30 day Challenge from Chris Stevens and pondered my joining for a few days. I thought of the commitment, the meeting of new people and at first it frightened me. Over the past several years I have been through some hurtful events in my life and became somewhat of a recluse. I kept listening to Chris and the challenge and decided one morning on my way to work to call and become a part of this. My hope through this challenge is to make my faith a stronger one and to regain my life as a happy/whole person through our creator and support from others. I really want to find the purpose He has for me and to be able to fulfill His destiny of me.
Dorothy M. Dumas – W. Bloomfield – I heard about CTWG on WMUZ. I missed the first challenge by waiting too late to call, so I hoped (and believed) there would be another chance in upcoming months….Then, lo and behold, I heard the announcement for May….Hallelujah!! What I hope to gain is not just for me but for those I come in contact with for Christ’s sake. I am tired of being inconsistent with my prayer time and I know this challenge will give me the nudge I need to be more disciplined….The mother’s at my old Church used to say: “Little prayer, little power – Much prayer, much power!”

Connie Dickinson , I live in Lincoln Park. I am excited about the Core group because I feel God really wanted me to get outside of my spiritual box. I believe this is just the sort of challenge I needed. I really feel like the disciples when Jesus said come follow me, and we are!
