Kid’s Life Wednesday Series “Devoted to His House”

Wednesday Nights in March, our kids will be learning about being devoted to His house. Our main verse will be  “Consequently , you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.” Ephesians 2:19-20 (TNIV)

Here’s some of the things we want kids to get out of this series:

  • The Church is the family of Christ on earth.
  • The Church is all about God and people.
  • The Church is a community of people who love what the Lord loves – His Church & people.
  • The Church is the bride of Christ on earth.
  • Develop a heart and passion for the Church as Jesus does.
  • The Church is the plan of God on earth.
  • The Church is the body of Christ on earth and we all have a place in the body.
  • The Church is not built on the gifts and talents of a few but on the sacrifice of many.
  • As you plant yourself in God’s House you will begin to flourish.
  • When the Church is healthy, it will grow.
  • God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively.

Kid’s Life Wednesday Series “Devoted to His Word”

Wednesday Nights in February our kids will be learning about being devoted to His Word. Our main verse will be “For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (NIV)

Here’s some of the things we want kids to learn in this series:

  • God speaks to me through His Word.
  • I know my Bible and how to use it.
  • Followers of Jesus read the Bible.
  • The Word of God is a powerful tool for my everyday life.
  • God’s Word gives me an example to follow.

HERO

I’m excited about our powerful series, “Hero.” A true hero is someone who is willing to make a personal sacrifice for somebody else, and there are plenty of biblical examples.

Gideon's Battle

Gideon became a hero, but he was a most unlikely candidate. He was afraid, and the truth is, Gideon had reason to be afraid. Things went from bad to worse, but Gideon’s feelings about himself didn’t stop God from making him a mighty Man of Valor.

Sometimes life goes from bad to worse. But…if you’re average and ordinary and you lack resources or you feel like a failure, then YOU are a candidate for  becoming a hero!

We love heroes because deep down inside, we long to be a hero. We long to do something significant in this life. God put that longing inside of us. We have His DNA.  We’re wired for success, for something greater than ourselves.  There’s a hero inside of you. So it’s time to awaken the hero. You are wired for greatness!

Kids Life Series Wrapup: “I Love My Bible”

We are wrapping up a great Wednesday night series with our kids. For seven weeks we talked about how much we love our Bibles in “I Love My Bible”.

Our theme verse was: “For the word of God is living and powerful.” Hebrews 4:12

We even had a song to help teach us the books of our Bible:  I Love My Bible

Here’s what we compared the Word of God to each week:

  1. I Love My Bible, Because God’s Word Is Like BREAD
    • We have to mix faith with the Word for it to work for us. (Like yeast and dough)
  2. I Love My Bible, Because God’s Word Is Like LIGHT
    • God’s Word can keep us from stumbling in the dark. (Like a flashlight)
  3. I Love My Bible, Because God’s Word Is Like a SWORD
    • When we speak the Word it destroy the enemy’s plans for us. (Like a machete can easily pop balloons)
  4. I Love My Bible, Because God’s Word Is Like SHIELD
    • We are protected from harm when we practice God’s Word. (Like a soldier hiding behind a shield)
  5. I Love My Bible, Because God’s Word Is Like a ROCK
    • We stand on God’s Word and it’s steady and safe. (Like a house built on rock and not sand)
  6. I Love My Bible, Because God’s Word Is Like a MIRROR
    • We can look at the Word to help us make changes. (Like looking in a mirror helps us to fix our appearance)
  7. I Love My Bible, Because God’s Word Is SWEETER THAN HONEY
    • God’s promises are sweet. (Like ice cream and all its toppings)

Thanks to Church on the Move in Tulsa, OK for providing this series for no charge.

Don’t forget to join us next week (July 6th) for the start of Wet Wednesdays!
