SHIPWRECKED: Summer Fun for Kids!

Did your kids enjoy Wet Wednesdays last summer?

Maybe they missed it but heard all about it from their friends?

Well do they like getting soaked, eating fun food, and having a great times with friends? We thought so!

They won’t want to miss “Shipwrecked” this Summer on Wednesday nights, July 11 – August 29th!

Each night will have fun beach themed snacks like “octadogs”, “sand pail” pudding, “ocean fun” cupcakes, “fish bait” mix and more.

We will also have great beach themed games and activities every week, like beach relays, sand castle competitions, miniature sail boat racing and more!

But that’s not all!

Each week they will have lessons from the life and journeys of the Apostle Paul:

  • Giving second chances
  • Encouraging others
  • Having a good attitude
  • Putting others first
  • Giving God credit
  • Choosing good friends
  • Being proud to be a Christian
  • Sharing the good news with others.

Plus rocking worship as usual! All this and more… FREE! Kids are encouraged to come dressed in beach attire and bring a towel each week!

myLIFE Easter Sneak Peak

Can you keep a secret? This Easter is going to be off the chain awesome in myLIFE Troy. We already have over 5000 eggs for the kids to find that morning during the 10 am service. There will be big prizes, games, candy, music and more. I even heard that the kids will be doing two of our awesome songs in the main service.

The kids will be experiencing a five week series called “Trade Ya”. Jesus did so much for us and traded what we had for what He has. It seems like He got the short end of that trade.We will discover how Jesus traded our wrongs for His rights, our sickness for His health, our fear for His faith, our needs for His riches, and our lives for His life.

In correlation with that series there will be a visitor contest for the kids. The kids need to bring their peeps to church! There will even be some super funny videos involved that we may even let you adults get to see.

myLIFE “Pancakes and Pajamas Night”

myLIFE will be having an awesome event on Wednesday, March 7: “PANCAKES AND PAJAMAS NIGHT!” Kids can come dressed in their favorite or crazy pair of pajamas. There will be prizes awarded for the “best dressed”. We will be having pancakes will all the toppings you could ever want! On March 18, 2012 we will be having a very special baptism during our 10 am service. We have so many children wanting to be baptized that we are having a “kid’s only baptism”. If your child has expressed a desire to be baptized, read this or contact Pastor Jason.

myLIFE Contest “Friend-a-Thon”

This March 11 – April 8, we have a special contest for our elementary students (grades k – 5th). We will be awarding 100 Bible Bucks to the boy or girl who brings the most friends during the month of March. Everyone who participates will get Bible Bucks for bringing anyone. We will have invites available for the kids to give their friends. Points are available for both Sunday and Wednesday visits. We will also have special gift boxes for our first time visitors!

 

The rules:

  • The friend must be a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd time guest for you to earn points.
  • The friend must be elementary students to get points. (Bonus points will be given though if you invite and bring a family who attend main service.)
  • You get more points if the guest returns (+ 5 for 1st visit, +1 for 2nd and 3rd visits each)
  • The person who gets the most points at the end of the month will be rewarded with 100 bonus bucks!

New Kid’s Reward Program “My Bible Bucks Store”

I believe that God is a rewarder and when I grow up I want to be just like Him. That’s why we have started a new rewards program for elementary students, “My Bible Bucks Store”. They can earn points to spend on various rewards.

All the “bucks” or points are recorded on a computer database so they can never be lost or stolen. (Yes we know that its ridiculous to think that things could be stolen from church, but it happens.) We will eventually issue cards that they need to show to spend their “bucks”. They will earn points on Sundays, Wednesdays and any special services.

Here are some of the ways to earn points:

+1 Attendance
+5 Brought 1st time friend
+1 Brought 2nd time friend
+1 Brought 3rd time friend
+1 Brought Bible
+1 Exceptional behavior
+1 Special Question Answered
+1 Verse Memorization
+1 Phrase Memorization
+20 CTWG Completion
+10 Monthly Reading Completion
+10 Special Memorization
+100 March 2012 “Friend-A-Thon”

Here are some of the ways they can spend their bucks:

Candy
Toys of various sizes
Bikes (with lots of saving)
Nintendo Wii (saving… of course)
Xbox 360 (and more saving)
Mission’s giving (donate the proceeds of your savings to mission’s projects)

Next Kid’s Life Sunday Series “The Holy Spirit In My Life”…

6 Week Series running Sunday, January 29 – Sunday, March 4.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is still at work in the earth today. Not only that, but there is no “Junior Holy Spirit” in the Bible. The same Spirit that filled and empowered the early church is available for kids today. In Acts 19:2 Paul asked certain disciples if they had received the Holy Spirit. They replied that they hadn’t even heard of the Holy Spirit. I believe the first step in making sure this generation is filled with the Spirit is to first introduce them to Him. This series will be instrumental in doing that.

  • Why Tongues?
  • Gifts of the Spirit

Your child can get a head start on memorizing the bottom lines and verses here. We will be launching our Bible Bucks Store in correlation with this series. Kids will be able to save up points (all recorded in secure database) to purchase various prizes.

Guest Speaker ~ Bishop Butler

Friday, October 14th at 7 pm at Life Christian Church we will have a special service with Bishop Keith Butler.

Bishop Butler travels the world teaching the life-changing Word of God without compromise. With “Live Your Faith” as his slogan, Bishop Butler, with precision and detail teaches believers the practical application of faith in their day-to-day lives. His anointed ministry has blessed thousands. Families have been restored. People have been saved, and many more have received their physical and emotional healing.

On January 14, 1979, Bishop Butler opened the doors of Word of Faith International Christian Center. Until December 31, 2010 Bishop Butler served as its senior pastor over 32 years; he is also the CEO of Word of Faith Southfield and other ministry works in the United States and abroad. In addition, Bishop Butler serves as senior pastor of Faith4life churches in Round Rock and Dallas, TX. As Bishop, he oversees 14 ministry operations in the United States.

Bishop Butler is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, OK. He also was a graduate of University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI.

He enjoys the support of his lovely wife, Pastor Deborah L. Butler, and their children-Pastor Andre Butler and wife Tiffany Butler (granddaughters Alexis, Angela and April), Pastor MiChelle and Minister Kristina Butler.
